In conversation with the lovely actress…

This girl has stunned many with her sharp features, killer looks and dynamic personality. She has been a bahu, a naagin and even a Bigg Boss contestant. That seems very daredevil in itself. Many might know this but she had a very successful modelling career in Kolkata before she got into acting, she won many beauty pageants as well. She got her breakthrough in the TV serial Kumkum in 2002 which was indeed her claim to fame. She started her acting career pretty early in her life and has quoted it as a sudden move which was not planned. Since childhood, she was hooked onto modelling and dancing, at the same time coming from a Bengali family was studious and smart.

Let’s hear from the one and only Sayantani Ghosh, about her opinion on things as well as we will talk about the very unfortunate event of Reema Lagoo passing away.

Before acting in TV serials she was doing Rajasthani as well as Bengali Movies, She recalls coming to Bombay. “Bombay was sudden to me. I auditioned for a role and got a call that I have been selected (which was quite out of the blue).  People even shared their opinion by saying that I have always acted in movies then why did I need to opt television. But the platform on which I perform has never mattered to me. What has mattered to me will always be how I have performed.”

Web series as an upcoming industry has found instant success and is also easily accessible on many platforms. Web series has come with a new all-round package altogether and has proved it’s here to stay. “They are picking up fast and the industry is really blooming. I personally am a fan of Band Baaja Baarat (Voot) and Permanent Roommates (TVF). They are more realistic and easy to believe, a common man can easily relate to the characters. I will be very excited to work in web series if offered a chance, because they are shot in a different manner.”

Furthermore, the recent news that shook the industry was the passing away of the legendary Reema Lagoo. She has acted in many Bollywood super hits winning the hearts of many with her acting. She has shared screen space with Sayantani in Naamkaran. “It took time for us to digest the news. I remember the next day me coming on sets and waiting for her outside her vanity van and later realising that she would not be there. It takes time for us to get used to the fact that someone in our life is no more. The sad part is that she was in good health. The week prior to that she had visited Nainital and was telling us how she loved the trip and the next week this happened. I still feel her aura on the sets and she will always keep blessing us.”

We wish Sayantani best of luck for all her future endeavours. May she keep shining as always and keep thrilling her fans.
